Slobodna Dalmacija – Šuta is looking for a new name for the ‘heavy’ armchair in Banovina

As can be seen on the pages Citya public tender was announced for the appointment of the head of the City Development Service, for an indefinite period with a trial period of three months. The official document was signed by the mayor Tomislav Šuta on June 11, 2026.

Candidates must meet general conditions such as age, Croatian citizenship and health. Among the special requirements, a high professional degree in natural, technical, biotechnical, social or humanistic professions, at least five years of work experience in appropriate jobs, and a second-level state exam, which can be passed within a year of employment, are required.

Also, knowledge of working with a computer (believe it or not), knowledge of the English language and knowledge of EU funds and strategic planning is also a requirement. Applications must be submitted within eight days of the announcement of the competition in the Official Gazette, and a written test and an interview will be organized for candidates who meet the requirements.

By the way, the current authorized head of the City Development Service is Antonija Eremut Ercegand this administrative body performs tasks of strategic planning, proposing and coordinating all development activities of the city. It organizes and participates in the creation of strategic decisions, studies and plans and coordinates the work of work teams on individual projects. At the same time, he analyzes, prepares and leads the implementation of strategic and capital city projects, while proposing priorities and sources of their financing.

The body performs advisory work and closely cooperates with municipal and commercial companies owned by the City, scientific institutions and bodies at the local, regional and state level. An important part of the scope is the preparation and implementation of projects co-financed from European Union funds and other sources, including the development of smart cities and management of their visibility and public information activities.

On the economic front, this body draws up programs and proposes incentive measures for the development of crafts and small and medium-sized enterprises with the aim of creating a favorable business environment. In this context, he coordinates the development of the Dračevac work zone and other entrepreneurial infrastructure, cooperates with associations of entrepreneurs and manages relations between economic entities and the city administration.

Finally, it implements measures in the field of consumer protection and performs all other professional and administrative tasks in accordance with laws and decisions of the mayor and the City Council.
