President of the United States, Donald Trump, has signed a memorandum of understanding in an agreement with Iran.
This appears from a video shared by the White House on the social media X on the night of Thursday Danish time.
Trump was in France on Wednesday in connection with a G7 summit, where he attended a dinner with, among others, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, at the Palace of Versailles.
In the video from the castle, Trump can be seen signing the document, after which those present – including his sidekick Macron – applaud.
On his way out of Versailles, Trump confirmed, according to the media BBC, that he has put his signature on the agreement.
– It is signed. Signed at Versailles. Just signed it, he said.
Iran has also announced that the text of the agreement has been signed.
Late Wednesday evening Danish time, Esmaeil Baghaei, who is the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told Iranian state media that it had been officially signed by the presidents of both countries.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has also confirmed in a post on X on Thursday night that the agreement has been signed.
Here it says that it has been signed electronically. Pakistan has been a mediator between Iran and the US.
Earlier, in a call with international media, US officials reviewed the 14 points of the plan.
It states, among other things, that the US and Iran undertake to negotiate and enter into a final agreement within 60 days at most.
However, the time frame can be extended by mutual agreement.
The American news agency AP writes that it is not immediately clear whether the 60-day negotiation period has been triggered as a result of Trump’s signature.
The agreement also states that shipping traffic in the important Strait of Hormuz waterway will begin “immediately” and that Iran will “take measures to the best of its ability” to ensure safe passage for merchant ships – duty-free.
