Huawei strengthens its global leadership in wrist wearables with 9.5 million units shipped in the first quarter of 2026
Huawei shipped 9.5 million wrist wearable devices during the first quarter of 2026, capturing a market share of 20.2% of the global market, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC). The latest quarterly report highlights Huawei’s consolidation of its position as a global leader in this sector.
Huawei launches new and diverse products to meet the needs of different users
Since 2021, Huawei has maintained the No. 1 position in China’s wrist wearables market in terms of shipment volume, and has also held the No. 1 position globally several times since 2024. This year, the company consolidated its leadership by launching several new products, including the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2, HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2, and HUAWEI Band 11 Series. These devices played a pivotal role in driving shipment growth during the first quarter.
HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2
It is a smart running watch designed for runners of all levels. It features a 3D floating antenna structure and supports positioning across six dual-band systems, providing industry-leading accuracy in tracking distance, speed and trajectory. The watch also offers the industry’s first dedicated Marathon mode, enabling users to manage races and create precise training plans. In collaboration with marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge and his dsm-firmenich Running Team, Huawei incorporated professional runners’ feedback to improve the product’s algorithms and features, ensuring the highest performance standards are met.
HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2
For those interested in golf, the watch represents a big step forward. It supports downloading maps of more than 17,000 golf courses around the world. In Driving Range mode, you track key technical data such as draw range, draw and stroke speed, and stroke angle using different clubs. In Course mode, it provides accurate distance measurements, displays previous putt distance, and makes intelligent club recommendations, to meet the needs of professional golfers.
HUAWEI Band 11 Series
Designed for comfortable wear and advanced health monitoring, it combines elegant design with advanced functionality. The device is only 8.99mm thick and weighs 18g, providing an ultra-light experience. The series also features an advanced screen, comprehensive sleep tracking, detection of 12 emotional states, support for more than 100 sports modes, and easy health management tools.
Huawei strengthens its market position by increasing investment in health and fitness technologies
Huawei’s global leadership in wearable device shipments is based on its continued investments in health and fitness technologies. The company has established three HUAWEI Health Labs, where cutting-edge technologies are transformed into innovative wearable experiences.
TruSense system
It provides accurate, comprehensive and fast health monitoring, allowing Huawei wearables to track more than 70 health indicators, including: heart rate, SpO2, breathing rate, blood pressure, stress indicators and emotional state. This represents a shift from “single point data collection” to “multidimensional perception.”
In the field of fitness
Huawei continues to push the boundaries of innovation. For example, the industry-leading AI‑XDR algorithm ensures accurate position tracking even in signal weak areas, allowing users to enjoy uninterrupted route tracking during exercise. In addition, Huawei integrates AI algorithms into various health and fitness scenarios, enabling users to adopt a data-driven healthy lifestyle.
The market has shifted towards scenario-based competition and user segmentation
The IDC report highlights a significant shift in the wrist wearables market, from homogeneous competition to scenario-based competition and user segmentation. Building differentiated products in specific categories—such as all-in-one smart devices, professional health, professional fitness, and daily health—has become an industry trend. Drawing on its long-standing technical expertise and strategic portfolio in health and fitness, Huawei has built a smart product portfolio covering professional sports, health management, and daily life needs. This group forms the cornerstone of its continued global leadership. Huawei is expected to continue to drive innovation, taking advantage of technical progress to provide more accurate and effective health experiences for users around the world.
