The shortest recorded marriage in the RS during 2025 lasted only 35 days, according to the data of the Republic Institute of Statistics.
“Long enough for the newlyweds to unpack their suitcases after the honeymoon, but not long enough to celebrate the first significant anniversary together,” the Institute stated.
They point out that the folk saying “until death do us part” in this case turned into “see you in 35 days”, which ranks this marriage among the shortest recorded in the RS.
Although marriage is most often entered into with the intention of lasting a lifetime, statistics show that some marriages end almost as soon as they begin.
