US President Donald Trump met with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the G7, where he stressed that he will do everything to increase pressure on Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine.
“Russia must make a deal. I will do everything in my power,” Trump declared, assuring that he would keep his promise that once the deal with Iran is secured, he would also focus on ending the “next war.”
Trump also stated that “sanctions on Russian oil may be reinstated soon.”
The sanctions were temporarily lifted to address the energy crisis caused by the blockade of Hormuz, following the attacks on Iran.
