Operated every Friday, this new service, lasting 7 hours 15 minutes, will support the strong presence of the Moroccan community in Canada and especially in Montreal and will support the rise of Agadir as a gateway to Atlantic Morocco, while contributing to the revitalization of its tourist ecosystem.
The expected impact is multiple: stimulation of hotel occupancy, development of local activities, job creation and better distribution of tourist flows across the region.
This new connection marks a major step in the strategy of market diversification and seasonalization of the Morocco destination.
In a statement to MAP, the representative of “Air Transat”, Abdou Jaiidi indicated that this new flight directly connects North America to the south of Morocco, offering the Souss-Massa region unprecedented access to a transmitter basin with high potential.
Two years after the launch of the direct Montreal-Marrakech air route, “Air Transat” continues its momentum and launches the new Montreal-Agadir connection, welcomed Mr. Jaiidi.
With more than 174,000 Canadian visitors registered at the end of August 2025, an increase of 29% compared to the previous year, Canada is now asserting itself as a priority market in the opening strategy of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT).
Montreal–Agadir consolidates this positioning and illustrates Morocco’s capacity to attract new airline partners in high value-added segments.
This new route is part of the desire to strengthen the Kingdom’s connectivity, by diversifying its target markets and promoting the richness of its destinations.
The direct Montreal-Agadir flight marks an important step in the development of air connectivity between Morocco and Canada and opens new prospects for the Morocco destination on the North American market.
