The Tunisian president responds to a rumor campaign

Tunisian President Kais Saied appeared last night, walking in a number of popular neighborhoods in the capital, Tunis, in a photo in which he responded to a rumor campaign that targeted him a few days ago, launched by his opponents on social media, claiming that he was outside the country for treatment.

President Kais Saied said, in a statement to the Tunis Africa News Agency, in response to the rumors that affected him, “I meet with citizens every day and work to respond to their demands, no matter how much the people squawk and the hired hands talk,” adding, “I know that the aspirations are many, but the will is iron in order to achieve – what he described – as the legitimate demands of Tunisians.”

The Tunisian President stressed that: “Addressing the problems at hand is not related to individual solutions for specific individuals or groups, but rather to comprehensive national solutions,” stressing “adherence to the options that have been adopted, and stressing the continuation of work to achieve the goals of the next stage, saying in this regard: “We have chosen to be an echo of the will of the Tunisian people, and we will continue the path and create our future with our own hands.”

Qais Saeed urged all officials in the state and institutions to carry out their duties in the required manner, and said: “Everyone who broke a promise and was not up to the level of honesty and responsibility, there are young people waiting and will have a place in the near future to achieve their demands, because the will is iron and there is no retreat from our choices no matter how they try to question us in every way… The state is not run by blogs, or by extravagances, or by lies… and Tunisia is disobeying them with its people to thwart everything they are planning.”

A rumor campaign launched by opponents of President Saied on social media sites was managed from abroad, claiming that President Saied was outside the country for treatment, which forced President Saied to go out in the field to meet citizens, in response to these allegations.
