Hamdaniya Tunnel.
Algerian Highways announced in a statement this evening, Thursday, June 4, the temporary closure of the Hamdaniyah tunnels on the north-south A1 highway, on the section linking Hamdaniyah and Al-Shifa.
The corporation alerted that, “As part of the ongoing maintenance work at the level of the Hamdaniya tunnels on the North-South A1 highway, in the section linking Hamdaniya and Al-Shifa, the Algerian Highway Company informs all road users that the two tunnels will be temporarily closed in both directions for an hour, with traffic diverted via National Road No. 01, to enable Sonelgaz departments to intervene to repair a technical defect, in order to ensure the safety of road users.”
She indicated that for those coming from Algeria towards Djelfa, traffic will be diverted at the level of the Sidi Madani transformer towards National Road No. 01.
As for those coming from Medea towards Algeria, traffic will be diverted at the level of the Hamdaniya Transformer, in the Housh Messoudi area, towards National Road No. 01.
