The protest of thousands of citizens in front of the Prime Minister’s Office was also joined by Alfred Čako, who addressed the crowd with a speech critical of the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama, whom he asked to resign.
“Today I see the state Albania is in, the people are like a dragon, it looks like it’s sleeping, but when it looks like it’s sleeping, it’s more dangerous than ever for all dictators”. he said, as he repeated the call for his resignation.
He emphasized that the state will be put on track and in balance, when there is a president who comes from the people, when there is a presidential council, where the prime minister does not have the opportunity to be prime minister more than twice.
Alfred Chako: I was your age when I was a December student and we were the first to shout: “We love Albania like all of Europe”. We weren’t as smart as you today. Today I see the state Albania is in, the people are like a dragon, they seem to sleep, but when they seem to sleep, they are more dangerous than ever for all dictators.
The governments here have closed their eyes and ears. I want to tell Edi Rama that there are two ways to leave, or to leave the agreement with the people who have come to this big square… there is no second way. Leave and then the country needs a new social contract.
When the state is balanced, when there is a president elected by the people, when there is a presidential council, where the prime minister does not have the opportunity to be prime minister more than twice. This country must be put on the rails and, above all, be the dictatorship of the people.
Today, the fate of the few 15 years, of those who will lead Albania, is decided here, we must be careful because here are the eyes and ears of all those who are interested in Albania, both friends and enemies, we must maintain the fence with both sides. Edi Rama resigned! To change the electoral code.
