The General Department of Immigration (GDI) has deported 166 Chinese nationals, including two women, in connection with online scam activities, illegal residence and employment in the Kingdom.
According to the GDI’s post, the deportation was carried out late on Sunday and early today, under the directive of Sok Vasna, Director General of Immigration, who instructed the Investigation and Enforcement Department to cooperate with the Chinese Embassy in implementing the deportation procedures.
The individuals were expelled from the country on a special flight through Techo International Airport.

The deportation was conducted in accordance with strict legal measures under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, and the direction of Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
The action forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to combat technology-based crimes and eliminate online scam networks operating in Cambodia, to safeguard public security both domestically and internationally.
Authorities also emphasised that the crackdown targets the masterminds behind such criminal operations, while at the same time rescuing victims who were deceived or trafficked into participating in online scam activities and enabling them to return safely to their home countries.
