A field visit was organized for the high-level Algerian delegation to the sites of two projects representing two sections of the trans-Saharan road within Chadian territory, according to what the Ministry of Public Works announced on Tuesday.
The visit aims – according to the statement – to complete the evaluation and field inspection, as it enabled the technical delegation to determine the current status of the two projects, the nature of the anticipated works, in addition to the most prominent potential technical and logistical challenges.
The inspection also included studying the geographical and topographical characteristics of the two sites and their compatibility with completed studies, as well as exchanging views with representatives of the relevant institutions on ways to improve performance and ensure respect for deadlines, the same statement adds.
The Algerian delegation includes representatives of the Ministry of Public Works and Base Establishments, the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development, the institutions Cosider TP and the National Company of Public Works (SNTP), as well as the National Authority for Technical Control of Public Works (CTTP).
This visit continues for the third day in a row, in implementation of the agreements of understanding and memorandums of cooperation signed between the two countries on April 22, 2026, especially in the field of public works and infrastructure facilities.
During the Council of Ministers meeting held last Sunday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered the immediate completion of two sections of the trans-Saharan road within Chadian territory with Algerian institutions, in order to increase trade and economic exchanges between the two countries.
