Oum Reatrey, Governor of Banteay Meanchey province, today led a team to visit and assist residents in repairing homes damaged by strong winds in Serei Saophoan city.
Around 50 houses in Mkak commune were damaged after strong winds struck the area on Sunday evening.
During the visit, the governor urged residents to remain vigilant against natural phenomena such as strong winds and lightning, which can cause damage to property, homes, and even threaten lives.
He also called on both residents and local authorities to plant more trees wherever possible to help reduce the impact of strong winds.
As part of the assistance, Reatrey, who also heads the working group for Serei Saophoan city, provided more than 700 zinc roofing sheets to support the repair of affected homes.
