The Traffic Department carried out a large field campaign that included distributing awareness brochures to drivers, in commemoration of World Traffic Day, as the streets of Irbid witnessed distinctive traffic activity today.
The initiative was launched with the direct participation of the Director of the Irbid Traffic Department, Lieutenant Colonel Mukhled Al-Abadi, who was present in the field and participated in the event and enhanced communication with road users.
Officers, personnel, and traffic controllers were deployed at various intersections and main squares, where they distributed leaflets containing traffic safety instructions and warnings against dangerous violations.
The campaign focused on consolidating the concept of “shared responsibility,” stressing that reducing accidents is a societal duty that falls on the shoulders of the driver and the pedestrian together to save lives.
The initiative reflected the civilized image of the traffic sergeant as a partner of the citizen, and was widely welcomed by drivers who praised this awareness-raising gesture that promotes a culture of self-commitment.
The department stressed that the ultimate goal is to ensure everyone’s safe arrival, stressing that prevention is the basic foundation for avoiding road tragedies.
