Today, Monday, the Public Security Directorate began celebrating World Traffic Day and Arab Traffic Week with a series of traffic and community awareness activities in all governorates of the Kingdom simultaneously.
The celebration this year came under the slogan “Slow down, we are waiting for you” as an expression of a clear message about adhering to traffic rules, avoiding committing dangerous violations, and spreading a traffic culture to reach a traffic-conscious society.
These activities, which are implemented by the traffic departments in cooperation with the Media Department and the Community Police, are part of the efforts of the Public Security Directorate aimed at raising the level of traffic awareness among drivers and road users, and establishing a culture of adherence to traffic rules and traffic regulations, in a way that contributes to reducing wrong behavior that causes accidents.
The activities included a wide field deployment, including the distribution of awareness leaflets that focused on the importance of adhering to traffic instructions, avoiding violations and dangerous behavior, in addition to providing direct guidance messages to road users.
Traffic departments and community police officers also participated in the morning queue with students in a number of schools, where awareness lectures were given to school students, to enhance their concepts of traffic safety and consolidate positive behaviors from a young age.
The Public Security Directorate confirmed its continuation of implementing its awareness and field programs in all governorates of the Kingdom by holding many events in cooperation with various partners, in a way that strengthens the traffic safety system and raises the level of awareness among all segments of society.
