Ukrainian forces hit several targets in the Russian city of Volgograd last night, using “Flamingo” missiles. Among the targets hit was a building of the military-industrial complex, reports Ukrainian justice.
Several sources have published footage showing a plume of smoke and fire, and the Russian authorities have subsequently confirmed that the city was attacked.
Other monitoring channels reported that a “defense plant” was hit. The alleged target was the federal research and production center “Titan-Barricade” AD, one of the key facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex based in Volgograd.
The plant, located in Volgograd, produces missile launchers, artillery systems and components for missile systems, including Iskander-M, Jars and Topol-M. Due to the production of weapons for the Russian army, it has been under international sanctions since 2022.
The Russian independent media Astra later reported, based on an analysis of open-source intelligence, that smoke was rising from the Titan-Barricade factory after the Ukrainian attack with Flamingo missiles. “The factory produces launchers for Russian strategic missile systems,” Astra added.
“Seasonal migration of flamingos from Ukraine”
A missile alert was in effect in the Volgograd region, and Russia’s Federal Aviation Administration (Rosaviation) announced temporary restrictions at Volgograd Airport. Denis Shtillerman, co-founder of Ukrainian drone and missile maker Fire Point, also released videos showing explosions in Volgograd.
“Volgograd welcomes the seasonal migration of flamingos from Ukraine. There will be more…” he said.

Volgograd Oblast Governor Andrey Bocharov confirmed this morning, June 27, that the city had been attacked, including “production facilities in one of the facilities in Krasnooktyabr district.” According to him, “localized fires were quickly extinguished.” Bocharov also announced that 10 people were injured.
The incident occurred after Ukrainian forces attacked a military facility in Cheboksary, Russia, and the Kuibyshev oil refinery in the Samara region with rockets and drones on the night of June 9-10.
What is Flamingo?
The FP-5 Flamingo is a new Ukrainian long-range cruise missile developed by the domestic defense company Fire Point, with the aim of carrying out deep attacks on Russian territory.
According to official specifications, this subsonic missile has an estimated maximum range of 3,000 kilometers and carries an extremely heavy warhead of 1,150 kilograms. It was designed as an affordable alternative to Western missiles, and Ukrainian forces systematically target strategic Russian military installations and weapons factories with it.
