Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan signed a package of more than ten documents on cooperation in various fields. The exchange took place in Baku in the presence of the two countries’ Presidents, Ilham Aliyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is in Azerbaijan on a state visit, according to the online newspaper “Turkmenistan.”
Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Ilham Aliyev also signed a Joint Statement.
Specifically, the parties concluded intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in food security, energy, and key areas for developing and deepening economic cooperation. Furthermore, a program for industrial cooperation for 2026-2028 was signed.
In addition, the parties exchanged interdepartmental documents on cooperation in the customs sphere – a protocol on mutual trade statistics and technical conditions for the exchange of preliminary information on transported goods and vehicles.
Memoranda of understanding were also signed in the fields of healthcare, labor and social protection, sports, agriculture, as well as between the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan.
The package was completed by a cooperation program between the foreign ministries of the two countries for 2026-2029.
