Tokischa continues to consolidate its impact on the international music scene after being included by Rolling Stone in its prestigious selection of “The best albums of 2026 so far”, a list that brings together the most notable releases of the year globally.
In the ranking, shared alongside productions by artists such as BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Julieta Venegas, Trueno, Noah Kahan, Yebba and Lucinda Williamsthe Dominican artist appears with “Amor & Droga”, her long-awaited debut studio album released this year.
Regarding the production, Rolling Stone highlights that Tokischa, whom it defines as “Latin music’s favorite provocateur,” presents an uncompromising project in which she explores some of the most complex chapters of her personal life.
“Throughout 17 songs, Amor & Droga narrates her past marked by toxic relationships, substance abuse problems, family traumas and dark thoughts. Songs like Perreo Llorando and Surfboard, together with Skrillex, show different facets of an artist in constant evolution,” the publication notes.
The recognition represents a new achievement in the international career of Tokischa, who in recent years has managed to position himself as one of the most disruptive and influential voices in contemporary Latin music, standing out for challenging conventions, expanding the creative limits of the urban genre and building a deeply authentic artistic proposal.
Released in April 2026, “Amor & Droga” marked a turning point in the artist’s career by presenting a more introspective and personal narrative, without abandoning the irreverence and creative freedom that have defined her career.
Inclusion on the Rolling Stone list reinforces the project’s global reach and confirms Tokischa’s growing recognition within the international music industry, where it continues to garner critical acclaim and expand its influence beyond traditional Latin music markets.
