The green hills of the Brigantine plateau, where the Sanctuary of Saint Bartholomew stands, were filled with silence on the afternoon of April 16th. In the shade of the edge of the trees, a circle of 14 students from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) formed, to whom small plastic bags were distributed, previously identified with each one’s name. Father Fernando Calado, the institution’s chaplain, then launched the challenge: “Tell whoever you need to warn. Then turn off your cell phones and put them in your bag.”
