On May 22, 2026, representatives of the RA Investigative Committee, accompanied by RA National Security Service officers, conducted searches in the office of the “Mother Armenia” party, Andranik Tevanyan’s apartment, garage and car, as a result of which, among other things, the technical means of the news analysis website “7or.am”, which ensured the website’s uninterrupted operation, were confiscated. As a result, the work of the “7or.am” news analysis website has been paralyzed since that day.
The Media Association of Armenia condemns this approach of law enforcement agencies. Undoubtedly, it directly contradicts the fundamental values of a democratic society, freedom of speech and press, as well as the principle of unhindered media activity, regretting that this practice has become repetitive.
Considering the above, the Mass Media Association of Armenia DEMANDS:
* Immediately return all equipment vital to the operation of “7or.am” media, in order to return the website to normal operation.
* In the future, refrain from actions that cause paralysis of the media, regardless of the circumstances in which the action was carried out.
At the same time, media members of the Media Association of Armenia, in this case as well, reaffirm our willingness to support “7or.am” with technical and professional resources, supporting the continuity of their media products until the return of the equipment and the full restoration of the media’s normal activities.
