The Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in the Quartet meeting in Cairo
His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in the fourth meeting of the foreign ministers of the four regional parties, which included, in addition to His Highness, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, and His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic, Hakan Fidan.
During the meeting, the latest developments in the regional situation and efforts to reduce escalation were reviewed, most notably Pakistani mediation in light of the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The meeting also discussed the Israeli military escalation against the sister Republic of Lebanon, and stressed the need to continue work and intensify coordination and consultation in a way that ensures the continuation of the diplomatic track, limits the repercussions of the crisis, and restores the region’s security and stability.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Prince Dr. Abdullah bin Khalid bin Saud Al-Kabeer, Director General of the General Administration for Policy Planning, and the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Saleh bin Eid Al-Hussaini.
