The Directorate explained, in an official statement, that the seizures that were seized during the recent control campaigns included about 10,000 kilograms of spoiled meat and poultry products, in addition to meat that was slaughtered outside government slaughterhouses, as part of the intensive campaigns carried out by the control agencies on markets and food establishments. The Directorate stressed the continuation of inspection campaigns to address all violations related to the trading and sale of meat and food products unfit for human consumption, while taking deterrent legal measures against violators, and not tolerating any practices that would harm public health. In the same context, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Giza, followed the efforts of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in coordination with the executive agencies during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, to ensure the regularity of oversight campaigns and control violations.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Fares, Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Giza, explained that the campaigns resulted in the issuance of 37 reports of seized violations, and the seizure of the violating quantities, stressing the continuation of inspection and oversight work to ensure the safety of food products displayed in the markets and to protect citizens.
