    The search for the bodies of GBAO head Alisher Mirzonabot and his companions continues in the Shamsiddin Shokhin area


    The search for the bodies of the Chairman of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region Alisher Mirzonabot and those accompanying him, who were traveling in a car that fell into the Pyanj River in the Darvaz region on June 17, continues for the third day. The head of the press center of the CoES, Orif Nozimiyon, told Asia-Plus about this.

    According to him, CoES rescuers continue search and rescue operations in the Shamsiddin Shokhin area. Searches are being conducted both on the surface of the water and under water.

    The Committee reported that work continues under the direct leadership of the Chairman of the CoES, Rajabali Rahmonali.

    The leadership of the personnel is entrusted to the representative of the Directorate of the Specialized Search and Rescue Service of the CoES, Colonel Izzat Kurbonzoda.

    “Rescuers from the On-Duty Special Rescue Group of the CoES Directorate in GBAO, consisting of 9 people, rescuers from the On-Duty Special Rescue Group of the CoES Directorate in the Kulyab Region, consisting of 7 people, as well as rescuers from the Directorate of the Specialized Search and Rescue Service of the CoES, consisting of 10 people – a total of 26 rescuers,” added Nozimiyon.

    The CoES noted that additional data will be provided as new information becomes available.

    Earlier, the CoES reported that there were five people in the car:

    – Alisher Mirzonabot – Chairman of GBAO;

    – Amina Amonulloeva (46 years old) – his wife;

    – Arifa Mirzonabotzoda (2 years old) – his daughter;

    – Sadonsho Dzhanobalisho (according to other sources, Dzhanobilshoev, 37 years old) – assistant to the chairman;

    — Sino Muborakshoev (42 years old) — driver.

    Note that according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, the accident occurred on June 17 at about 10:40 on the 282nd kilometer of the Dushanbe-Khorog highwaybetween the villages of Zigar and Yakhchisor, Darvaz region.

    A Toyota Land Cruiser 200 official car, in which Alisher Mirzonabot, his assistant Sadonsho Dzhanobilshoev, as well as the wife and young child of the regional head, were in, fell into the Pyanj River.

    Top officials expressed condolences

    Earlier, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Speaker of the Majlisi Milli, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali expressed condolences over the death of Alisher Mirzonabot.

    Rustam Emomali noted that Mirzonabot was distinguished by high responsibility, dedication to the state and nation, and also enjoyed respect among colleagues due to his merits.

    Alisher Mirzonabot was the deputy chairman of the Majlisi Milli and the head of GBAO. He was elected to the upper house of parliament from multi-member constituency No. 1 of GBAO.
