    The Foreign Minister holds extensive discussions with his Algerian counterpart


    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Al-Safadi, received today the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs of the sisterly People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf, who arrived in the Kingdom on a bilateral visit, after which he will participate in the Arab consultative meeting and the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level in its resumed 165th regular session, which Jordan will host tomorrow.

    The provinces are preparing for a new national scene in support of the Nashami movement against Algeria

    Al-Safadi received from Attaf a letter to His Majesty King Abdullah II from his brother, His Excellency Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

    Al-Safadi and Etaf discussed ways to strengthen the historical fraternal relations between Jordan and Algeria, and stressed their keenness to expand cooperation in various fields of interest to the two brotherly countries, in a way that serves their common interests.

    The two sides agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of economic, agricultural, health, and pharmaceutical industries, work to activate the Jordanian-Algerian businessmen forum, and study the possibility of agreeing on a list of priority goods and products to be exchanged at preferential prices, which contributes to enhancing common interests and increasing trade exchange between the two brotherly countries.

    The two ministers also agreed to begin preparations for holding the tenth session of the joint Jordanian-Algerian ministerial committee, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in various fields.

    The two ministers discussed the regional situation and the efforts made to stop the escalation, ensuring the restoration of calm, addressing the causes of tension, and achieving permanent security and stability.

    They also discussed developments in the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, and stressed the need to stabilize Gaza, and ensure the entry of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid without obstacles, to end the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip.

    Al-Safadi and Attaf stressed the need to stop illegal Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, including settlements, settler violence, land confiscation, and attempts to change the existing historical and legal status in the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

    The meeting also discussed preparations for holding the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers and the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level in its resumed 165th regular session, and they stressed the importance of the two meetings in strengthening joint Arab action to confront common challenges.

    The two ministers agreed to continue coordination and consultation to pursue efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation and address regional and international issues of common interest.
