A new publication documents the memory of the liberation revolution

The writer and mujahid Suleiman Laaishour published his new book called The Messenger, which is a documentary work in which he recounts an important aspect of his struggle in the ranks of the glorious liberation revolution and provides vivid testimonies about the events he experienced alongside a number of the most prominent leaders of the Algerian revolution.

The book was presented today at the Mujahid Regional Museum in Tizi Ouzou in the presence of mujahideen, researchers, and those interested in national history. The meeting was an opportunity to introduce the author’s content and discuss the most prominent issues and historical milestones that it deals with.

The book includes testimonies and facts that the author lived through during the Liberation Revolution, especially during his work as a messenger and liaison officer charged with transmitting secret messages and instructions between the leaders of the National Liberation Army. It also sheds light on his relationship with a number of symbols of the revolution, led by Karim Belkacem, the martyr Colonel Amirouche Ait Hamouda, and Mohamed Said.

The Mujahid Suleiman Laaichour, known by his revolutionary name Rachid, was born on December 23, 1935 in the village of Ait Mahmoud in the Beni Douala region of the state of Tizi Ouzou. He joined the ranks of the liberation revolution at an early age, where he was known for his intelligence, discipline, and loyalty, which earned him the trust of the leaders of the revolution who entrusted him with sensitive tasks related to communication and the transfer of mail and secret messages.

The book “The Messenger” is a valuable addition to the National Library, as it documents an aspect of revolutionary memory through the testimony of one of the actors who lived through the events and contributed to their making. It also represents an important reference for researchers and those interested in the history of the liberation revolution, and contributes to transferring the memory of the national struggle to rising generations.

The book presentation ceremony concluded with a session for the author to sign copies, amid great interest from the audience, who praised the value of this historical publication and the information and testimonies it contains that contribute to preserving the national memory and preserving the history of the liberation revolution.

It should be noted that the Mujahid Suleiman Laaishour recently handed over the Kashabiya to the martyr Colonel Amirouche Ait Hamouda, which he personally received from him in 1958 before his move to Tunisia. This historical piece was presented to the Mujahid Regional Museum in Tizi Ouzou in the presence of Noureddine Ait Hamouda and a number of members of the revolutionary family.

This Qashabia is a material witness to the sacrifices of the leaders of the liberation revolution and a symbol of the Algerian national memory that requires preservation and appreciation for current and future generations.
