The National Bureau of Meteorology warned in a weather bulletin for Thursday of heavy thunderstorms across 17 states.
In a second level warning, the Bureau reported that heavy rains would affect the states of: Laghouat, Djelfa, Ould Jalal, M’Sila, Medea, Bouira, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Mila, Constantine, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Batna, Oum El Bouaghi, Khenchela, Tebessa and Biskra.
The amount of precipitation ranges from 20 to 40 mm and is valid from 2 pm until 1 am tomorrow, Friday.
New alert: A severe heat wave hits 8 states
On Thursday morning, the National Meteorological Office warned in a weather bulletin that a severe heat wave and thunderstorms would be recorded across several states.
The Diwan bulletin reported that the heat wave would affect the states of: El Tarf, Annaba, Skikda, Jijel, Bejaia, Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdes and Algiers.
The bulletin is valid from noon today until six in the morning tomorrow, Friday.
Heavy rains across 38 states
The bulletin also warned of heavy thunderstorms falling across the states of: Souk Ahras, Tissemsilt, In Guezzam, Laghouat, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Relizane, Bejaia, Ghardaia, M’sila, Tiaret, Mila, Tamanrasset and Oum El Bouaghi.
The bulletin will also cover the states of: Tebessa, Guelma, In Salah, Chlef, Batna, Setif, Djanet, Djelfa, Illizi, Constantine, Mnaia, Skikda, El Bayadh, Mughir, Jijel, Khenchela, Ain Defla, Medea, Biskra, El Tarf, Adrar, Saïda, Bouira, Ouled Jalal and Blida.
The newsletter is valid from three in the afternoon until three in the morning tomorrow, Friday.
