A meeting of the National Anti-Corruption Council was held in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda. The event was attended by heads of ministries and departments, representatives of Majlisi Oli committees, political parties, public associations, civil society and the media.
Opening the meeting, Kohira Rasulzoda presented a report on the structure’s activities for 2025 and introduced the participants to the work plan for 2026.
He emphasized that the effectiveness of the fight against corruption directly depends on the coordinated interaction of government agencies and civil society, which allows for the introduction of real mechanisms of control, transparency and accountability.
Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the role of the National Council and local public commissions created with its support, whose main task is to coordinate the efforts of the authorities and the civil sector.
The participants discussed the results of comprehensive monitoring of the implementation of the first stage of the State Anti-Corruption Strategy, covering 2021–2025, and also touched upon the issues of introducing digital technologies into anti-corruption processes.
As part of the agenda, reports were heard from the heads of a number of departments, representatives of local authorities and the Civil Society Coalition on Transparency and Anti-Corruption. As a result of the discussion, members of the Council and heads of government agencies were instructed to take an active civic position, promptly eliminate the preconditions for corruption and work to strengthen the international image of Tajikistan.
