The debate about the protest in Tirana, Rama collides with Iran: You have no shame, the blood of thousands of people weighs on your conscience – Shqip.com

Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded again through social networks to a reaction of the government of Iran regarding the interventions of the regime of the Ayatollahs through cyber attacks and disinformation in Albania.

A day ago, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baqaei, asked the head of the Albanian government not to accuse Tehran of the protests, but to respond to the people who demand justice and the fight against corruption.

“Instead of writing a long pamphlet full of baseless accusations against Iran, take a moment to listen to your people shouting in the streets: ‘No to corruption!’; ‘We want justice!’; ‘Rama goes!'”Baqaei declared.

Rama starts his note on social networks with the sentence “Oh, my dear, you people are really shameless!”

According to the prime minister, the government of the ayatollahs of Tehran has officially joined the protest, in a democratic country where every citizen can express himself freely, while the complete opposite happens in Tehran where opponents are persecuted, imprisoned and killed.

The head of the Albanian government has accused Iran several times of interference through cyber attacks and the distribution of false information in Albania.

Even in the last note, he recalled the cyber attack of several years ago against Albanian institutions. While in the last protest, there were many manipulated videos that were distributed by accounts based in Tehran through social networks.

    Rama’s post:

Here the government of the ayatollahs of Tehran officially joins the protest, even with slogans in Albanian, just like those who turned it from an environmental protest to a protest for the overthrow of the government!

Attached is my response to the Ayatollahs, also in the name of those protesters who are still there to protect nature, not to make Albania a square for the squares of powers of all kinds, from Iranian medievalists, who want to burn this exemplary oasis of interreligious tolerance and excellent relations either with Israel, with Arab countries or Turkey, to all kinds of groups and international media together with all kinds of individuals from all kinds. countries, who agree with Trump, are putting it out these days by flooding social networks with all kinds of half-truths, which swell and swell, becoming the biggest lies!

Albania is too small to fall into this big trap, from where we risk returning with our feet to the point where no foreign investor will approach, while tourism remains far behind compared to our competitors…

    reply

“Oh dear, you people are truly shameless!

Anyway, thank you for the concern you show for the intelligence of the Albanian people.

It would be far more convincing if this concern came from representatives of a regime that does not regularly hit its citizens with censorship, intimidation, internet blackouts and suppression of any dissenting voice.

As for sovereignty, Albania does not receive lectures on sovereignty from a government whose operatives were caught conducting cyber attacks against Albanian public services and institutions, leading to the severance of diplomatic relations between Albania and Iran.

You quote Albanian protesters shouting in the streets. Very well. This is called democracy. In Albania, people are free to protest against their government, criticize the Prime Minister, demand justice and call for elections without fear of imprisonment.

Can the same be said for the people you claim to speak for?

And it is especially significant that you suddenly revealed such great concern for the protesters in Tirana, while the blood of tens of thousands of your own people weighs on the conscience of your regime, while countless others continue to suffer persecution, repression, and imprisonment, and while tens of millions remain trapped in conditions that belong more to the Middle Ages than to the twentieth century.

The Albanian people are really intelligent enough to distinguish truth from lies. It is precisely for this reason that he is able to distinguish between a democratic argument and propaganda. Your worlds, fake profiles and videos manipulated with deepfake technology may add to the general digital confusion the poison of your regime of hate, but they will get nowhere, because despite the differences we may have between us as Albanians, we are all clear and united in the conviction that any kind of regime that keeps its people in darkness and poverty is an enemy of our way of life, disguised as a concern.

And yours is the worst of all: a terrorist state by its very definition.”
