Today marks the 11th day of protests in the capital, with the same demands: against the Zvrnec project, as well as the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
As on other days, the citizens first gathered in the ‘Skënderbej’ square, followed the march towards the Prime Minister’s Office with banners in their hands, “You have not yet settled your accounts with the students”, Without youth there is no Albania”, “When the students stand up, the state trembles”.
Dominated by young people, but there are also children, they made the protest peaceful and without incident.
Also, what stands out in today’s protest is a banner on which it is written, “Prizren 1878 unites Albanians from 5 provinces, Tirana 2026 unites Albanians from 5 continents”.
These protests have been described by young people as the “Flamingo Revolution”. The flamingo was chosen as a symbol because it directly represents the ecosystem of the Narta Lagoon, but then it became a distinctive sign of the rise of young people who express dissatisfaction with social, economic and political issues in the country through protests.
