Colonel Esmail Ehsanpour said, according to the online economy report, quoted by Khabar Online: This fatal accident happened at 3:03 am on the west-east route of Shahid Lashgari highway, after Shahid Sattari highway, in front of Koi Bimah.
He added: In this accident, the driver of a Peugeot 207 vehicle deviated from lane 2 of the highway due to his inability to control the vehicle due to a violation of the safe speed and collided with the base of the pedestrian bridge.
The head of accident department of Greater Tehran Traffic Police continued: Unfortunately, as a result of this incident, the driver and the passenger of the Peugeot 207 (two men aged 21 and 23) died due to not wearing seat belts and the severity of the impact and injuries to the tail.
At the end, Ehsanpour emphasized on the observance of safety points and said: Driving at illegal speed is one of the main causes of fatal accidents. As the speed increases, the ability to control the vehicle decreases significantly, and in critical situations, the driver loses the opportunity to react appropriately. The cause of this heartbreaking accident was the driver’s inability to control the vehicle due to a violation of the safe speed. Therefore, we request all drivers to move at a safe speed on city roads and highways so that they can control their vehicles when facing danger so that we do not witness such unfortunate incidents in the city. Observing the speed limit is not only a law, but also a necessity to save your own life and that of others; Therefore, arriving a few seconds earlier is not worth risking your life.
