For example, the Electric Transport Service (STE) He explained that, due to the implementation of the Railway Traffic Regulation and Control System, as well as the comprehensive maintenance of the stations, the entire route closes two hours earlier, that is, at 10:00 p.m., from Monday to Friday.

It is also important to remember that there is no service from Tasqueña and Las Torres, so there is RTP service. In the rest of the 16 stations, the Light Rail already operates normally, with the time limits already mentioned above.
In addition to this, maintenance work is being carried out at two stations so they do not provide service for users.
This is the Federal Registry, where attention is given to the access stairs, floors and roof, so it will be closed from Tuesday, May 5 to Thursday, May 7.
While, in Textitlán, also with work on the access stairs, floors and roof, it will be closed from Thursday, April 30 to Monday, May 4.
On April 8, the general director of STE, Martin Lopez Delgadoestimated that by the first days of May the new Tasqueña terminal – now closed – would be finished, where one more platform was enabled, to have three and not just two, so that coupled trains can operate.
“We are going to reduce travel time by 30 percent, by being able to board and drop off simultaneously, since the terminal will have three platforms instead of two, as it had in the previous terminal,” he explained.
He specified that for this work on the new Tasqueña terminal 150 million pesos were invested.
López Delgado explained that another of the rehabilitation points is the modernization of seven stations that go from the section from Estadio Azteca to Xochimilco, so that they can accept coupled trains.
“The work that is being carried out mainly obeys the roofing installation in each and every one of these stations; to the improvement of the architectural appearance; to the implementation of podotactile guides and also to the reinforcement of signage in all of them,” he explained.

The head of the STE said that, in addition, work is being done on universal accessibility at stationsespecially in the first section of the Light Rail that goes over Tlalpan Causeway Well, pedestrian bridges are used there to enter the system.
For this reason, it was planned to install equipment called “stair lift” that allow users to enter with wheelchairs at the stops of Las Torres, Ciudad Jardín, La Virgen, Xotepingo, Nezahualpilli, Registry Federal, Textitlán, El Vergel and Estadio Azteca.
“With this we are going to provide greater security, but, above all, universal accessibility, to any sector of the population. We are going to finish these works in 2 weeks; that is, by the third week of April. We hope to have all this equipment already installed, in these stations,” he predicted that day.
The general director of the Electric Transportation Service highlighted the purchase of 17 light trains to meet the growing demand for the Light Rail and not only for the Soccer World Cup that starts next June 11.
The units, which will cost 1.4 billion pesos, are already in the system facilities and are in the static and dynamic testing stage. The bet, he announced, is to mobilize 200 thousand users in one business day.

They have reserved seats for people with disabilities and also for older adults. The accessibility of these trains is one hundred percent universal; That is, once users are inside the stations, they can enter the trains without any problem,” he specified.
They are expected to come into operation in the first days of May.
He STE explained that to increase the safety conditions of the trains, the Railway Traffic Regulation System for almost 800 million pesos and is in the implementation stage. He estimated that it will be operable a few days before the start of the World Cup, which opens on June 11, at the Banorte Stadium or Mexico City Stadium.
“All the necessary equipment will be placed along the line in its 13.3 kilometers in both directions and is made up, among other aspects, of a communication system that will allow very easy and efficient communication between the center, the Central Control Post and the operators who operate the units. A new Central Control Post will be implemented, in the vicinity of the Aztec Stadium.
