The former national leader of Morena, Luisa María Alcalde Lujánspoke about her departure from the national leadership of the party and stated that “I am leaving happy, proud and satisfied with what has been achieved.”
During the VIII Extraordinary National CongressMayor Luján expressed that “I am grateful to the militancy and to those who give life and face to Morena, to those who do not always appear in the spotlight, but who support this movement every day.”
“I have had the honor and privilege of having been invited by the president of Mexico to be part of her cabinet at the head of the Legal Department, which is why today she changed her trenches, but never her cause,” she explained.
Regarding the accusations of the United States government against the governor of Sinaloa, Ruben Rocha Moyathe Morenista maintained that President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo requires a closing of ranks and unity in the movement.
“It is up to all of us to close ranks in defense of the transformation project that took so many years and so many lives to build. We cannot ignore that there are those who would like to see a Mexico on its knees, submitted and surrendered,” he added.
“We have an opposition that has no respect or love for Mexico, on the contrary they are dedicated to spreading lies and slander here and abroad, who rub their hands to see a weakened Mexico to take advantage of the moment and return for their privileges,” he added.
Furthermore, he warned that Mexico is going through a complex international situation where an attempt is made to nullify basic principles of coexistence, based on sovereign equality and the self-determination of peoples.
“Faced with this scenario, Mexico has become a beacon of dignity and firmness, because it has very clearly demanded unrestricted respect for our sovereignty and rejected any attempt at interference coming from abroad,” he said.
Additionally, he highlighted that in the last year and a half of his administration he managed to strengthen the movement like never before, “because we went from 2.5 million members to 12 and a half million, 10 million more. We are, according to the population, the second largest party in the world.”
