The Speaker said that the visit of the current Parliament Leader and the Prime Minister has given hope to the countrymen and the common people are also thanking the Prime Minister for the successful completion of the visit.
Presenting the proposal, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the visit of Prime Minister Tariq Rahman as the head of the democratic government formed by leading the long anti-fascist movement is very important for Bangladesh. Relations with Malaysia and China have been strengthened and new horizons of bilateral cooperation based on mutual respect and interests have been opened up.

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said in the discussion that the Prime Minister’s visit is a real reflection of the basic principles of Bangladesh’s independent foreign policy – mutual respect, mutual interests, non-interference in internal affairs and strategic autonomy. He mentioned that there were important discussions on labor market, energy, trade and investment with Malaysia and infrastructure development and trade balance with China.
Opposition leader Shafiqur Rahman supported the proposal and said that the opposition will fully cooperate with the government in implementing an independent foreign policy.
