Damascus, June 18 (SANA) Interior Minister Anas Khattab met in Damascus on Thursday with a high-level European Union delegation headed by EU Special Representative for Human Rights Kajsa Ollongren for talks on human rights cooperation.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement that discussions focused on prospects for expanding cooperation, particularly in the fields of human rights and international coordination mechanisms.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed several issues of mutual interest and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in areas related to human rights and institutional engagement.
The Syrian side included Brigadier General Samer al-Hussein, the minister’s adviser for legal affairs and human rights, along with a number of ministry officials.
