Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that he plans to resign in “three, four months, maybe even earlier”.
During a guest appearance on Radio Belgrade, speaking about the potential dates for holding extraordinary elections, he said that “it will not be a surprise for anyone” and that he will not say “that he is shortening his mandate, but that he is resigning”, reports Nova.rs.
“I started packing books in the Presidency. I asked my friends who could receive 500 books, I will donate the 1,200 I received during my mandate to some institution, I’m still thinking about which one,” said Vučić.
He also added that every day he thinks about his own candidacy for prime minister, as well as a new candidate for president of the current government.
“It will be someone more responsible, I dare say more educated, more energetic and a man who knows what the state is. He will certainly be more educated than their two candidates (rector Vladan) Đokić and (basketball player Dejan) Bodiroga,” said Vučić, reports Nova.rs.
