World Illustration Awards
The World Illustration Awards 2026 has published a longlist of nominees, including 10 Ukrainian illustrators. A total of 446 works from around the world were included in the list.

Among those who made it to the long list: Masha Foya, Olga Lisovska, Maria Bilinska, Irena Zablotska, Irena Eremenko, Gena Hudkova, Daria Lada, Alina Kovtun and Yevgenia Nikonorova.
Illustrator from Kyiv Masha Foya got into the longlist with two works: in the category Editorial (Professional) with an illustration she made on order for the German edition of Die Zeit about bullying at school, and in the Exploration (Professional) category, the work Everything is Translation, which Masha did for the international exhibition of illustration Everything is Translation, which took place within the “Book Arsenal” in Kyiv, was recognized.
Also this year, Masha did cover, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, for the new issue of the Guardian Weekly.
Kharkiv artist Olga Lisovska fell into the category Book Covers (Professional) for the cover of the Ukrainian edition of the novel “Apple Dick” by Kurt Vonnegut for the publishing house “Babylonska Library”.

Illustrator from Lviv region Maria Bilinska added to category Book Covers (Professional) for the cover of the book “Good Feelings” by the Ukrainian writer and military man Bohdan Kolomiychuk for the Stary Lev Publishing House.

Ukrainian-British illustrator Irena Zablotska fell into the category Advertising (Professional) with work for the poster of the 3×3 International Illustration Show No. 23.

Irena Yeremenkowho currently lives in Great Britain and studies at Leeds Art University, was recognized in the category Editorial (New Talent) for the Quiet Presence project, which explores the themes of mental health and loneliness.
Kyiv artist Gena Hudkov fell into the category Children’s Publishing (Professional) with the project A Hug Back – a wordless book inspired by a trip to the Carpathians.

Two works Daria Ladawho now lives in Canada, got to Editorial (Professional): Dengue Vaccine Effectiveness in Adolescents illustration depicting the results of the Dengue Vaccine Effectiveness in Adolescents study in São Paulo; the second series of The Long Game of Becoming is commissioned by football coach Anush Dastgir. The illustrations tell about the coach’s life experience and the idea of creating safe spaces for children in Afghanistan in the form of soccer fields.

Artist from Odessa Daria Filippova entered the category Publishing (Professional) with illustrations for the novel “Count the Stars” by Lois Lowry from the publishing house “Dots”.

Kyiv artist Alina Kovtun got to Book Covers (Professional). She was recognized for the alternative cover of the novel “Bunny” by the writer Mona Awad.

An illustrator from Los Angeles who grew up in Ukraine, Evgenia Nikonorovanoted in the category Animation (New Talent) with Sword In The Stone work.
The World Illustration Awards was founded by the British Association of Illustrators. It is held once every two years. Both experienced artists and beginners can take part in the competition.
