In a group Eighties in Split on Facebook, one member published an interesting list: namely, a list of former companies (excerpt from two photos), now largely defunct, with a short explanation: “Here is a list from 1985 on 180 pages. Companies from all over Dalmatia, from Zadar to Dubrovnik”.
Among them, as can be seen in the photo, are names that evoke nostalgia: Splitska banka, Transjug, Jadroagent, Union Dalmacija, Dalmacijaturist, Logos, Jadrantekstil, Mesopromet…
Some entities survived social changes under the same name, such as Slobodna Dalmacija, it is certainly interesting to see that piece of history that many still vividly remember.
The comments are harsh, and they allude to the shutdown of many businesses that fed many families, while Dalmatia and Croatia were part of the former state.
– Everything destroyed in 35 years, we are a nation, all honor.
– All companies had to go bankrupt in the presence of so many experts?
– This is not all, not even close.
– It would be nice if the data were digitized, according to one follower of the Osamdesete page/group in Split.
