An opportunity to rebuild family legislation
Fatima Adel said, during her guest appearance on the “Al-Hayat Al-Youm” program broadcast on Al-Hayat channel, that family legislation needs to be rebuilt after many years of successive amendments, considering that the current stage represents an important opportunity to formulate a more balanced and stable law.
The project philosophy is based on balance
Fatima Adel explained that the draft family law that she submitted is based on the vision of the Justice Party, which is based on achieving a balance between father and mother, while placing the best interest of the child at the forefront of priorities when drafting legal articles. Fatima Adel stressed that preparing the personal status law should not be based on the idea of the existence of a victorious party and a defeated party within the family, but rather through managing disputes in a way that ensures the preservation of family ties and reduces the effects of conflicts on children.
Representative Fatima Adel stressed the importance of overcoming the concept of the “post-divorce battle,” which negatively affects children and the family, stressing that the main goal of any family legislation must be to achieve family stability and protect children’s rights. Fatima Adel concluded by emphasizing that the success of the new family law is linked to its ability to achieve a balance between rights and duties, while ensuring that the interest of the child remains the basic criterion governing all provisions of the law.
