Consumer prices in Tajikistan in April 2026 increased by 0.6% compared to March, reports the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Food products rose in price the most over the month – by 0.9%. Prices for non-food products increased by 0.5%, while paid services to the population remained unchanged.
Since the beginning of 2026, the overall increase in consumer prices has been 1.9%. During this period, food products rose in price by 2.4%, non-food products by 0.5%, and paid services to the population by 3.4%.

What went up in price the most in April?
Among products in April, the most noticeable increase in prices was for apples – by 16.1%, carrots – by 10.4% and sugar – by 9.4%. Fruits in general rose in price by 4.8%, potatoes by 4.7%, bread by 2.7%.
Prices also increased for soft drinks – by 1.1%, oil and fats – by 1%, buckwheat and minced meat – by 0.7% each. Beef rose in price by 0.4%, flour by 0.2%.
At the same time, some products have fallen in price over the month. The prices for cucumbers decreased the most – by 9.5%. Eggs fell in price by 3.9%, onions – by 3.4%, rice – by 2.1%, milk – by 1.9%, chicken meat – by 1.2%.

Apples have risen in price more than others
Since the beginning of 2026, the most noticeable growth among products has been recorded for fruits – by 17.5%. Apples have especially risen in price – by 49.1%. Grapes increased in price by 17.5%, lemons – by 14%, bananas – by 2.3%.
Vegetables have risen in price by 4.7% since the beginning of the year. In this group, the prices for tomatoes increased the most – by 13.6%, cabbage – by 12.4%, potatoes – by 10.6%, carrots – by 5.9% and onions – by 3.3%.
Since the beginning of the year, bread prices have risen by 6%, oil and fats – by 3.3%, flour – by 2.8%, soft drinks – by 2.7%.
At the same time, prices for cucumbers decreased by 9.2%, rice by 8%, eggs by 6.9%, milk and beef by 1.8% each, chicken by 1.1%, and cereals by 0.4%.

Fuel and utilities are the main drivers of growth
Prices for non-food products increased by 0.5% in April. The main contribution was made by the increase in prices for fuels and lubricants – by 6.8%. Diesel fuel prices rose by 12.4% over the month, gasoline by 10.3%, and liquefied gas by 4%.
Clothing and footwear prices rose by 0.3% in April. At the same time, prices for furniture, household items and household goods decreased by 0.1%.
Since the beginning of 2026, fuels and lubricants have risen in price by 8%. Including liquefied gas prices increased by 13.5%, gasoline – by 4%, diesel fuel – by 1.7%. Clothing and footwear rose in price by 0.6%, furniture and household goods – by 0.7%. Construction materials, on the contrary, fell in price by 0.7%.
Paid services to the population did not change in April, but have increased by 3.4% since the beginning of the year. The main reason was the increase in utility tariffs – by 10.7%. Hotel services increased in price by 1.5%, transport services – by 0.2%. Air transportation prices increased by 0.9%, the cost of an air ticket Dushanbe – Moscow – by 1.5%.
