KUCHING (June 13): Brooke Holding Sdn Bhd signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with key industry partners during the Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference and Exhibition (APGH) 2026 here recently.
It said the MoUs reflected its continued commitment to strengthening its role as a Sarawak-based engineering and construction solutions provider supporting the state’s long-term industrial, energy and infrastructure agenda.
The first MoU was inked with CCCC Dredging Southeast Asia Sdn Bhd (CDSA) and Hextar Mitai Sdn Bhd (HMT) to explore opportunities in dredging, reclamation, jetty and port construction, offshore transportation and installation, offshore decommissioning, marine logistics, oil terminals, tank farms, strategic petroleum storage facilities and related marine infrastructure development.
The second was signed with CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company Limited, International Ltd (CCDC) to explore potential areas in oil and gas exploration and development, integrated oilfield services, field development solutions, drilling and completion services, production enhancement, brownfield redevelopment, carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), gas monetisation, facility inspection, evaluation, operation and maintenance services, and other low-carbon opportunities.
State Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, together with Brooke Holding directors, representatives of the respective MoU partners, and invited industry stakeholders witnessed the ceremony.
In a statement, Brooke Holding said the collaborations intended to create a stronger platform for local participation, technical collaboration and strategic capability building in sectors crucial to Sarawak’s future economic growth.
“These MoUs represent Brooke Holding’s strategic intent to position itself in higher-value areas adjacent to our core EPCIC business, including marine infrastructure, offshore support services, oil and gas field development support, decommissioning, CCUS and energy transition infrastructure.
“As a Sarawak homegrown company and a state’s GLC, Brooke Holding has a responsibility to continuously build capability, develop local participation and support the state’s ambition to become a competitive regional hub for energy, engineering, marine infrastructure and sustainable industrial development,” it said.
It also noted that the collaborations were timely given Sarawak’s growing momentum in gas development, hydrogen, CCUS, low-carbon industries, port-related infrastructure and regional industrial connectivity.
It viewed the MoUs as strategic platforms to explore commercially viable opportunities, subject to technical and commercial due diligence, internal approvals, regulatory requirements and definitive agreements where applicable.
Brooke Holding expressed its appreciation to the ministry for facilitating a strong platform for industry engagement during APGH 2026, and Dr Hazland for witnessing the signing ceremony.
The company pledged to continue working closely with strategic partners, government agencies, clients and industry stakeholders to support Sarawak’s economic transformation, energy transition agenda and local industrial capability development.
