Shaheed El Hafed, May 2, 2026 (SPS) – The President of the National Council, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Mr. Bashir Mustafa, has congratulated Dr. Fateh Boutbig on his election as President of the Pan-African Parliament, during a session held at the Parliament’s headquarters in Midrand, South Africa.
In a message of congratulations, he expressed his warmest wishes on this “well-deserved victory,” noting that the election carries significant political implications and reflects confidence in Boutbig’s ability to restore the prominence of the Pan-African Parliament and strengthen its role as the voice of African peoples.
He also praised Boutbig’s political and parliamentary career and his continental contributions, stressing that his election represents recognition of Algeria’s role in African forums.
The President of the National Council reaffirmed his institution’s readiness to provide support and assistance to the Pan-African Parliament under Boutbig’s leadership, expressing hope for continued advocacy for just African causes, foremost among them the issue of Western Sahara.
