A search for a foreign tourist who did not return to the accommodation yesterday, after he went to Háafoss in Þjórsárdal, has been unsuccessful. The police in Suðurlandi say that the search will be suspended until new evidence emerges.
The search has been quite extensive. Many rescuers have come to her in walking groups, and drones and dogs have also been used, and stream water searchers have also taken part.
The Coast Guard’s helicopter crew has also joined the search.
The man’s car was found at Hólaskóg, from where a road leads up to the waterfall and a viewpoint opposite it.
