Paris SG is the European men’s football champion for the second year in a row after defeating Arsenal in a penalty shoot-out in the final in Budapest tonight.
The score after regular time and extra time was 1:1 and PSG eventually won 4:3 in a penalty shootout.
Arsenal started with a bang and Kai Havertz scored the first goal of the game in the 6th minute when he broke through and nailed the ball into the roof net.
PSG was more likely to score the next goal of the game, but no more were scored in the first half.
The French champions continued to attack in the second half and it paid off in the 65th minute when Ousmané Dembélé scored from a penalty that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia collected.
The teams had a hard time creating open scoring opportunities after that, and no more goals were scored in regular time or overtime, so it went to a penalty shootout.
In it, PSG scored from four kicks against three, but defender Gabriel burned Arsenal’s last penalty when he nailed the ball high over the goal.
