The Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, stated at the meeting of the North Atlantic Council in Brussels that the state is investing at an increased pace in the development, modernization and equipping of the Army, with the aim of improving the national defense capacities and meeting NATO standards.
– We are strongly committed to the development of national defense capacities, which are an integral part of the collective defense of the Alliance. This is evident through investments in defense, but also through the process of modernization and equipping, which is visible with every passing day – said Misajlovski.
As reported by the Ministry of Defense, he pointed out that record funds are being set aside in defense, which, as he emphasized, are being used efficiently for equipping and modernization, thus enabling the fulfillment of NATO capability goals in the foreseen dynamics.
– Our country is making a step forward in the development of capacities – Misajlovski said, adding that in the past year, significant military equipment has arrived, which, together with the development of human resources, enabled the Light Infantry Battalion Group to be assessed as “combat capable of carrying out its mission” according to NATO standards.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the minister held bilateral talks with several colleagues, including the Greek Minister of National Defense, Nikolaos Dendias. At the meeting, as informed by the Ministry of Defense, the joint strategic determination for a stable region and strong collective defense was emphasized, as well as the importance of continuous defense cooperation.
The interlocutors also emphasized the open and constructive communication between the two countries, which contributes to the realization of joint activities from the annual plan for defense cooperation.
– Misajlovski added that current investments in defense and security, as well as investments in transport infrastructure along corridors 8 and 10, contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region and to better protection of citizens – the statement reads.
