The Association for E-Trade of Macedonia (AETM) published the latest updated edition of the Register of E-Traders, in order to enable citizens to more easily check who they are buying from before making an online payment.
According to the data of the National Bank, in 2025, 1,829 points of sale for e-commerce were registered in the country, of which 1,396 were active, i.e. realized at least one transaction during the year.
The register is a unique base of domestic online sellers that offer payment with payment cards and is updated in cooperation with the five banks that process electronic transactions – Komercijalna banka, NLB banka, Stopanska banka, Halk banka and UNI banka.
In the latest edition, 1,374 active e-stores distributed in 25 categories were recorded. The most represented stores are cosmetics and beauty products (115), clothing, footwear and fashion accessories (100), food and beverages (87), white goods and electronics (86), tourism (81), web services and digital content (73), education (71), as well as home, furniture and garden (61).
AETM points out that the structure of the offer shows that domestic e-commerce is no longer limited to traditional categories, but services, tourism, education and digital products are taking an increasingly large place.
In addition, the data shows that e-commerce in Macedonia continues to grow. In 2025, the total value of online transactions will reach 950 million euros, which is 32 percent more than the previous year. Of this amount, 522 million euros were realized by domestic e-traders.
The president of AETM, Nina Angelovska-Stankov, assesses that the trends indicate the maturation of the digital economy and the expansion of online shopping habits among citizens.
The registry also plays an important role in protecting consumers, as it allows them to check whether the seller is a registered legal entity and uses an integrated online payment system through a bank. At the same time, it contributes to the reduction of the gray economy through greater market transparency.
The register is publicly available and searchable by URL, legal entity or e-store category.
