The National Institute of Labour of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and the English-based Bachelor and Master of Laws programmes (ELBBL & ELBML) of the Royal University of Law and Economics, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in education, training, and internship programmes for students.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Sovann Vannaroth, Secretary of State representing Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training on Wednesday.
The MoU establishes a mutually beneficial cooperation between the two institutions through the exchange of academic programmes and the organisation of training courses related to laws and regulations governing the labour sector, social security, and vocational training. The initiative also seeks to raise awareness about the implementation of working conditions, employment contracts, and the benefits of social security schemes, helping better prepare students before entering the labour market.
Under this cooperation framework, the Institute will provide internship opportunities for students, allowing them to gain practical experience in implementing legal provisions related to labour, social security, and vocational training.
Both parties expressed confidence that the partnership will help strengthen human resource capacity, improve the quality of education, and enhance the linkage between education and vocational training with the labour market. The cooperation is expected to support national socio-economic development while contributing to improving the quality of human resources and expanding employment opportunities for Cambodian youth.
