State Mediator Ástráður Haraldsson says negotiations between Icelandair and its pilots remain difficult, following a meeting that concluded shortly before 3 pm today.
According to Haraldsson, the parties are currently discussing virtually everything except the wage provisions of the agreement.
“This is a very heavy and difficult discussion, and we still cannot see the finish line, but we are trying to keep moving forward,” he said.
He added that both sides still see value in continuing negotiations.
“But it would be an exaggeration to claim that things are going particularly well,” Ástráður said.
When asked whether tensions were running high at the bargaining table, Haraldsson declined to comment.
“There are all kinds of issues under discussion that have nothing to do with wages,” he said.
The parties are scheduled to meet again at 10 am tomorrow.
