There is just over a week left for the ball to start rolling in the FIFA World Cup 2026. That is why there are only a few days left for the 48 qualified teams to officially present their list of 26 more invited players.
One of the last to make it official was Croatia, Panama’s rival within Group L of the group stage at the World Cup. Zlatko Dalić, coach of this Croatian team, will have the most important player for these matches. Luka Modric, at 40 years old, will play in what will be his fifth World Cup.
The current Milan player made his debut in a World Cup event in Brazil 2014 and since then he has signed up for the next four. Russia 2018, Qatar 2022 and now Mexico, the United States and Canada 2026.
In fact, it was Modric who led Croatia in the last two editions in which they made history. They remained runners-up in 2018 after losing against France and in 2022 they took third place by beating Morocco.
In addition to Modric, there are other important players on the list such as Mateo Kovacic from Manchester City, Ivan Perisic from PSV, Josko Gvardiol from Manchester City, Stanisić from Bayern Munich, Petar Musa from FC Dallas, among others.
Croatia will make its FIFA World Cup debut on June 17 against England, while it will face Panama on June 24 in Toronto, Canada. They will close this first phase against Ghana on June 27.
