The AfD wants to take on government responsibility and actively shape the future of Germany. This requires experience, unity and the courage to involve the next generation at an early stage.
The 29-year-old Hohm comes from Cottbus and has been chairman of Generation Germany (GD), the AfD’s youth organization, since its founding in November 2025.
The Thuringian AfD around state leader and party right winger Björn Höcke had already spoken out in favor of this. Thuringia’s AfD General Secretary Daniel Haseloff referred to young voters. It is important that the party does not petrify and that youth influence the federal executive board.
The AfD youth organization Generation Germany (GD) was re-founded at the end of November. The AfD separated from its predecessor organization Junge Alternative (JA), and the JA dissolved. As an independent association, it was only loosely linked to the AfD; the influence of the parent party was limited. Members – with the exception of the board members – did not have to be members of the party. As a rule, only those who are already in the AfD can now be a member of the GD. Violations of rules or misconduct can therefore be punished, up to and including exclusion from the party.
