Irbid Governorate Works Director, Engineer Maan Al-Rabadi, said that the directorate’s technical staff will begin, in the next few days, to install traffic lights and electrical systems at the petroleum intersection, stressing that the work will be completed and the signal will be fully operational for traffic before the end of this month at a cost of 50 thousand dinars, after the project is nearing completion and the expansion, paving and construction work of the central islands has been completed.
Al-Rabadi explained that this step comes with the aim of organizing traffic at the site that connects the city of Irbid to the districts and the western and northern regions, in addition to reducing recurring crises and accidents, ensuring the highest levels of traffic safety for pedestrians and vehicles alike at this vital intersection.
Al-Rabadi presented a number of road projects that the directorate recently completed, pointing out the completion of a package of agricultural roads inside the Irbid Qasaba at a cost of 40 thousand dinars, in addition to paving the main street of the martyr Azmi al-Mufti camp at a cost of 30 thousand dinars, and rehabilitating the Irbid-Ajloun road at a cost of 194 thousand and 540 dinars. The completed work also included implementing projects to enhance traffic safety elements on some roads, including installing speed bumps, reflectors, traffic safety elements, and signs.
