Dragan Kavčić (51), whose friends call him Bomba, from the village of Semići in the municipality of Lupoglav, decided to give a four-day stay in his vacation home with a swimming pool to a family that cannot afford a summer vacation, writes Istarski.hr.
He announced on social networks that he has a free appointment from August 12 to 16 and that he wants to give it as a gift to those for whom such a vacation will really mean a lot.
– I have a free appointment from August 12 to 16. I would like to give it to a family that can hardly afford a summer vacation. If you know someone to whom this would mean a lot, contact me in a private message or tag that person in the comments – wrote Kavčić.
His announcement soon spread on social networks and caused numerous positive reactions.
“I was once in a difficult situation too”
Although many praise her for this move, Dragan says that publicity was not his goal.
– What an advertisement, I don’t need that. For the second year in a row, all my appointments have been filled – he said.
He explains that he made the decision after talking with his son Lucas and daughter Mia, recalling his own difficult moments in life.
– I also went through difficult periods in my life. I’ve been in a situation where I didn’t have enough and I know what it’s like. You work and fight all your life, so I simply wanted to do a good deed – he said.
He adds that it may not be a big sacrifice for him, but it will mean a lot to someone.
– For some family, those five days of rest in peace, by the pool and in our beautiful area, will surely remain in their unforgettable memory – he says.
This won’t be the last time
Kavčić believes that today’s society thinks too much only about money and its own interests.
– Today we only look at ourselves and do not notice the people around us. Such times have come – he said.
He says that a large number of people have already contacted him, and he will make a decision about who he will give a holiday to as a gift soon.
He also revealed that this probably won’t be the last such action.
– We will certainly do it again. Why not? – he concluded.
His move was seen by many as a reminder that, despite the increasingly expensive life and the daily struggle for existence, there are still people who are ready to help those who need it the most.
